Neural interfaces for
everyone, everywhere.
Open, buildable and affordable enough to become ubiquitous, so that high-quality brain data from everyday life becomes abundant and free to access.
Our data privacy stance
Brain data, like all physiological data, is personal, and it stays private by default.
Today the known risks of sharing or publishing personal brain data are very low. Even so, we believe every person should decide for themselves whether, and when, to share it.
- Sharing is voluntary, and you can stop at any time.
- Shared data is de-identified and open to all.
- Private data is never shared or used to train models.
Published data can’t be recalled, and we keep reassessing the risks as models improve.

Hardware for everyone.
Data from everywhere.
Faster progress for all.
- 01Open, buildable, affordable hardware
Research-grade neural interfaces anyone can buy, or build from the open-source files.
- 02Worn everywhere
Cheap and easy enough to become ubiquitous, worn seamlessly through everyday life.
- 03Abundant neural data
High-quality data from everyday life, voluntarily donated through free apps and open to all.
- 04Faster neurotechnology
Open foundation models, brain health applications, and new ways to connect, built on that data, arrive sooner.
- 05Better lives
Useful tools that improve the lives of all humans, and bring more people in.
All apps are free for anyone who donates their data. Many apps are free for everyone, and some require a small subscription for anyone who chooses to keep their data private. A subscription is never required to use and acquire personal brain data from a device. Voluntarily shared data is open to all, and the foundation models trained on it are open-sourced, so every turn makes the next one faster.
What that means

neuroscientific proposes an open source foundation for neural interfaces anyone can afford. We are starting with wearable, research-grade EEG.
We want to hear from
- Technology partners interested in having their devices publicly benchmarked and showcased
- Funding partners interested in accelerating our mission
- Research partners interested in targeted collaborations
- Anyone and everyone with a vision for how the fields of neuroscience, technology, and AI can converge to create better outcomes for all humans

Start with EEG.
Make it smaller.
Then MEG.
Everybody has a brain, and every brain is in some condition. We are making the instruments that measure it open and affordable, one at a time, with the data and the models in the open too.
- 01 · NowWearable research-grade EEG
Open hardware, firmware and software, priced for anyone, or built from the files.
- 02 · NextSmaller, concealable EEG
Smaller and concealable, for recording through everyday life.
- 03 · ThenWearable OPM-MEG
Magnetic brain imaging you can wear, made open and affordable the same way.

We focus on devices that are research and wellness tools, not medical devices. They make no formal diagnostic claims. However, importantly, they are affordable out of pocket and make prescreening and laboratory-grade tooling available for everyone.
